Christine borrowed my sister's car to go to work today. She came home and told us that when she left she couldn't understand why everyone was going so slow. She passed car after car. Then on the way home from work she noticed the same thing - very slow drivers. She finally realized my sister's car speedometer is in miles - not kilometers. She was actually traveling through city streets at 60 miles an hour!
Christine also told me a story from her childhood that I didn't know about. Her older sister Sandy and a cousin wanted to walk across a field to get to the other side but it was fenced and there was a bull inside. So Sandy and her cousin got a red sweater, put it on Christine and told her to distract the bull while they ran to the other side. Her plan worked.
I think this shows how smart Sandy was even when she was young!

I enjoyed both stories, made me smile :) thank you and happy Thursday!
I see a reality TV series in the making, dear Belle: Christine's Capers. I wonder if she would have gotten off with a warning had she been pulled over for speeding. Seems she had a great excuse. That bull story is amazing. Many dangerous things we did in our youth seemed like a good idea at the time. Thanks, Belle!
That was genius of Sandy to avoid the bull haha, I couldn't believe that your daughter had it set to miles instead of kilometres though, I'm so glad nothing bad happened, thank goodness she's now realised so this won't happen again, great story all the same though.
So many times when you give an extra 'thanks to God' for watching over them when you didn't know they needed it!
Oh, how funny! I am glad they both lived to tell about it.
Isn't it terrifying when we at last hear those harrowing tales our kids went through
It sounds like Christine has at least as many lives as a cat. Great stories, Belle.
oh wow. That's dangerous.
I can relate after finding out some things my kids did too - and glad they made it - yours and mine.
Hi Everyone! Kids do so many dangerous things, don't they. Glad you liked the stories.
I can't believe she put on a red jumper to distract a bull! Crazy!
That was so funny about the speedometer and she was lucky she didn't get into trouble. The other incident could have been a bad one. She was lucky on that one. Always great seeing a post from you Sweet Thang.
Hugs,
Odie
thats quite funny! i feel as though that is something that would happen to me, i never notice how fast I'm going, until i look down and realize I'm speeding. glad both those incidents turned out okay!
Dearest Belle,
OMG, kilometers and miles!!! I don't know why this happened, but really relieving there were nothing wrong for her☆☆☆ Haha, quite funny story and good work of yours which picture the scene very well. Again she was ok at that time(^_^)v
I hope you are having wonderful weekend, my friend in Canada.
Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*
I'm glad to hear they made it through both experiences okay!
And so do we know how Christine made it out of the field? Fun stories and thankfully no harm done.
Two stories that, thankfully, make for fabulous laughs in hindsight! :D
And they wonder why we worry about them! I wonder how many other stories they have that you'll never hear.
Crazy girls! That was funny! And probably something I would have done with my sister and friends too! :)
Whoa, that's fast! I hope she's slowed down since then.
"Tales From a 1960s Flower Child" has been included in the Sites To See for this week. I hope this helps to point many new visitors in your direction.
