My lovely friend Janice, who is a fantastic writer over at http://jabblog-jabblog.blogspot.ca/ has asked me to answer 11 questions. Here they are:
1. If you believed in reincarnation, who or what would you like to come back as?
An archaeologist who works in the Middle East or Egypt.
2. What organism could you live happily without? (Consider carefully the ecosystem.)
I'm not sure how important spiders are but I cheerfully hate them.
3. Are you a talker or a listener or a nicely balanced blend of the two?
I would say I am balanced - but you would have to ask my family since none of us can really see ourselves as we are.
4. How much time do you spend day-dreaming?
Maybe an hour - I think about the past or dream of the future.
5. Have you ever walked in your sleep?
No. Not that I'm aware of.
6. What is your favorite quotation?
One by Paul the Apostle
"Don't worry about anything, but in everything with supplication and praise make your requests known to God, and the peace of God, which passes all understanding will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
I memorized this and repeat it often because I am prone to worry about everybody and everything.
7. What is the greatest advice you would give to an 18-year-old?
Be kind to everyone you meet. A smile or act of kindness can make a difference in another person's life.
8. What is your favorite time to get up?
I would say 8:00am. Not too early, not too late.
9. If you could choose to live in a different era, which one would you choose?
I think I would like to have lived with a Native American tribe before this continent was discovered by Europeans. A peaceful tribe who were good to their women. Or live with the Bushmen in Africa, also before the white man came.
10. Would you accept an invitation to travel in space?
Only if it were on the Enterprise with Captain Kirk. Our space shuttles are too small.
11. Would you rather walk, bike, ride a horse or skateboard?
Bike. I love to bike although I don't do it now.
Thanks for asking Janice. You have brought joy to my life by your blog which is so interesting and informative.

I love the concept of peace that passeth understanding. I think of that often. It will be amazing to feel that kind of peace.
I wanted to be an archaeologist growing up. But my parents talked me out of it. Loved your other answers too. The cartoon made me smile. Can't wait to see the next one. Take care.
You are developing quite some characters Belle in your cartoons!
Great to hear more about you Belle, the first answer particularly hit me, I'm curious as to why you'd love to be an archaeologist from Egypt haha.
Your comics have me doing a "spit take" with my morning coffee, dear Belle! The question about the advice to give an 18 year old is the one that I'd like to address. I like your answer and I will add this to it. People of any age who walk around with a negative attitude and a chip on their shoulder tend to attract similar people into their orbit and at the same time repel the kind of people who could help them to have a better life. Three words: be real nice.
I really enjoyed getting to read your very interesting responses to those great questions. And, as always, that is a smashing cartoon. Did you draw when you were younger, or is this just something that's come about recently?
Digging in the dirt every tomboy's dream......
My son wants to be an archeologist. It would be an interesting job if you found something! I'm with you on the space shuttle. I wouldn't like such close quarters, either.
It is always a treat when we can learn more about the friends we have made around this world and we have similar views Belle. I also think it would be awesome to experience life with the native americans before they got invaded and nearly destroyed.
My space adventure would also require a vessel called Enterprise commanded by Capt. Picard along with Data & Will. I wouldn't trust anything made by people in our current time.
Appears we will have another gorgeous day here in NC. It's 8:53 AM and you should still be sleeping. Have a terrific Thursday.
Hugs,
Odie
LOL. I love the Krag and Draco stuff. Belle, your mind is fantastic. As for getting rid of spiders, I think that would be bad as insects would get out of control. I'm trying to think of what I might answer to that question. I'm going to go with the organism that causes Staph infections. I believe it is a bacteria and therefore would qualify. It's a particular type of bacteria and I think it is resistant to antibiotics which means people would like to get rid of it anyway. So yeah...I would choose that and just get rid of it. I think the world would be a better place.
Hi Belle. I love Shady's comment, "be real nice." That about sums it all up really, doesn't it?! It was really interesting to learn all those things about you today my friend. I usually get up at 8 a.m., although once the lighter mornings are here, I will probably be up a little earlier. As you say, not too early, and not too late! I knew you would want to be up there with Captain Kirk on the Star Ship Enterprise. Mind if I tag along as well?!
Crystal- I do have that peace many times, but since we are in this world, I have to keep praying for it.
Tary- It would have been nice to work together! I couldn't be one after having my two girls. I wouldn't want to leave them to go dig up cities and artifacts.
Claudia- Yes, my mind goes all over the place! lol
Matthew- I became interested in archaeology in my twenties after reading a book about Hatshepsut, a woman who became a Pharaoh of ancient Egypt. I then read many books on archaeology and was fascinated.
Tom- I have heard, "Like attracts like," before and I think that is true. "Be real nice," is something we should all strive to remember in every situation. Thanks, Tom.
Shelly- I've always loved art, especially paintings, so I took an art class through the mail. I had to quit because I was allergic to the paints and pastels, but the first few months I learned a little about drawing. I like drawing these comics because they don't have to look great or anything!
Rhonda- I was a bit of a tomboy. I went digging for fossils in the hills of Drumheller, Alberta once. I didn't know it was against the law! Anyway, I loved it.
Sherry- I hope your son realizes his dream. It would be so interesting. You can also get jobs in museums and libraries and you can teach. When there are digs, they accept voluteers, so he may want to try it out first.
Odie- It's nice you would want to join a tribe with me, Odie. You could hunt and I would make you some fine leather clothes!
Michael- Getting rid of staph would be a really good thing. Oh, so that is why we need spiders? I didn't think of that. Do they have to be so horribly ugly? Thanks for saying my mind is fantastic! I just told my husband what you said! He isn't too sure about that. lol
When I draw these comics, I'm never sure if they are good or not. Maybe that is the way with writing books, I don't know but you would. Maybe I should join Alex's insecure writer blogfest!
Diane- It does sum it up. Paul says, "Love is our aim." It is by far the most important thing in life. I would love to have you along on the Enterprise. We would have to fight over Kirk or Spock. I love them both so maybe I would let you choose first.
I too have memorized the verse in # 6 - how critical that is to know!
Today's Kirk's birthday! 81, can you believe it? I didn't realize today was his special day when I wrote him into my blog post this morning. I must be psychic! (LOL)
Fascinating to get to know you a little :)
I need to memorize that scripture too. I loved all your answers. What a fun little list of questions! I love the comic. :)
I love your cartoon. It's fabulous. Nice to see more of the aliens. :)
I hate spiders, too. And ants. I love your advice.
Thank you for answering the questions, Belle. Now I know where Krag and Draco sprang from:-) I loved your answers, particularly your words of advice. Good words to live by.
Chatty- I need that advice so much!
Tom- No, I didn't know it was his birthday! 81. Imagine! And he is still going strong. He is one funny guy. Thanks for telling me.
LindyLou- Thanks so much. I'm glad you liked the post.
Hi Carrie- Glad you liked the questions and the comic. I have an idea for tomorrow's post for the comic.
M Pax- Thanks very much. I love making them up.
Janice- Thank you for asking them. Have a lovely evening.
Don't squish the spiders!
And Jamie at Mithril Wisdom has done the archaeologist thing in Egypt and talks about it on his blog now and then.
It was fun to read your answers! :)
". . . none of us can really see ourselves as we are". Good point.
Alex- The spiders around here will have to take their chances with me. That is interesting about Jamie - I'll have to go check him out. Thanks.
Eagle- Thanks so much!
