My Sisters Say Goodbye to the Slugs and Spiders.

I wrote earlier how my sisters were living temporarily in a trailer in the forest in Washington state. They hated it. Ugly creatures live in the forest. Not everyone looks like Bambi you know! Some things are hairy or leave trails of slime behind them.

Anyway, my niece Tanya bought an acreage nearby. My two sisters, are going to live there too. Tanya owns three horses and wanted a place to live and also offer horse rides.

There are two houses on the property; this is the larger one.
Tanya will be building a barn.

This is part of the fenced pasture for the horses.

Tanya is relieved to finally find the perfect place. She has been looking for a year.
We are all very happy for her.

The closest town is called Sedro Woolley. Weird name right? Well it appears to be two towns that merged.

A man founded Woolley and his last name is Woolley. Simple right?

A man founded Sedro, but his name is Cook. He wanted to name the town Cook, but there was already a Cook so the state wouldn't allow it.
He wanted to name it "Bug" because of all the bugs, but his wife wouldn't allow it.
Finally he named it Cedra - Spanish for cedar because of all the cedar trees.

People kept mispronouncing it and it became known as Sedro (which I guess means nothing at all).
I love it! That poor guy just couldn't get the name he wanted, ever!
