It's hard to post tonight because my friend Shelly has had a tragedy happen at the school where she teaches. A little 12 year old girl committed suicide. She left her 11 year old sister behind. They had no parents who wanted them.
I just can't post something funny tonight. My heart is hurt for those girls. My heart is hurt for all the hurting people in the world.
Three of my cousins committed suicide. They were adults when they did it. Two of them were abused as kids. One was kept in a cage in the basement as a boy among other things. The other one had a crazy, crazy mother and no father.
The third cousin had a problem with depression all her life. She couldn't take pills because she was allergic. Her mother died when she was 6 and she said she never got over it. She tried to get better but lost the battle.
I could tell you other sad stories about my family. Quite a few of us have depression; some have considered suicide. Just so the mental pain would stop. Some of us have found wonderful help with psychologists and anti-depressants. I'm one of them.
I hope if someone is reading who can't see any goodness or light in their life will go see a doctor for pills and get counseling. You can get help, and some day you will wake up smiling - glad to be alive. I did.
