Geo-Caching.

My husband and I like to geo-cache when we can. It is a fun activity where you use a hand-held GPS to find secret caches. We belong to a club online where you can download the co-ordinates for each cache. If we are on a trip, my hubby makes a list of caches to find.

We didn't have good luck in Oregon. We looked for two caches we couldn't find. This happens sometimes and it is a bit disappointing, but we do see parts of a city or countryside we wouldn't have seen otherwise. We did find two in California. The first one was in a sweet little town called Blue Lake.

Usually, the clues lead you to a small container where you write your name and date, or swap small items. But sometimes you are led to an interesting object. Blue Lake led us to this cute little bird house on
top of the tall stump of a tree.

We walked around this picturesque town and took a few pictures. I liked their little church.

I found this house very interesting with the little guesthouse in the shape of a lighthouse.

I wish I had my bird book with me. This is such a pretty bird.

Later we searched in the woods for a cache. It took us a bit of time, but we found it!

This paper was folded inside the container. We added our name and the date and returned it.

One of the clues was "tree stump" but there were quite a few of them around.

We left Reno this morning and are heading home. I feel a little sad, but that is normal when a vacation is over.
