Today's Letter is X.
X marks the spot.
When I was a little girl my older sister, Chloe, made up a game called, Treasure Hunt. She would write clues on little pieces of paper and hide them. She would tell us where to start looking (ex: in the fridge) and my brother and I would run around the house finding clues until we came to the treasure, which was usually some cookies or candy.
This was an exciting game for me; right up there with Xmas, another X word. When I had children, I introduced them to the game. Sometimes I would give them a dollar each as the treasure. My daughters played the game with their kids, sometimes making an elaborate map with an X on it. My granddaughters made their own Treasure Hunt games, wrapping up their toys for the treasure. I'm sure they will pass the game on to their children.
This is a sappy post, but the letter X is a difficult one (I'm whining again).
When I think of it, Treasure Hunt was a lot like Amazing Race. Too bad Chloe didn't sell the idea to TV.
