A to Z Challange.

I learned about the A - Z Challange from at http://omylee.blogspot.com/ It sounded like fun to post every day of February but Sunday on subjects alphabetically. So, here I go with the letter A.

I decided to look up words in a dictionary and write about whatever interested me. Azan: "The Muslim call to public prayer, proclaimed five times a day by the crier from the minerat of a Mosque."

Whether you pray or not, I thought how wonderful it would be to hear someone remind us each day to be thankful and helpful. We can become so wrapped up in our work, family and pleasure that we can forget to take time to look around and see the beauty or the needs in life that lay all around us.

I wish we had something similar to Azan in our culture; something that would stop us in our tracks each day and point us upward to the stars and around us to other people.

We might take that time to think about how we could help those other people, or take stock of our lives and see if we are on the right track. We could take that few moments to forgive, bless or hug someone. We could stop and not only smell the roses, but buy one for our drycleaner, doctor or teacher.

I wish just once a day someone would make church bells ring, music play or someone sing out: "Stop what you are doing right now. Look upwards, look around you, look inside yourself and say, "I am part of this amazing world. What can I do to make it a better place? What can I do to make someone happy today?"
