My nephew, Ian, was visiting my sisters and I in Nevada. He told us he read an article saying that scientists are developing a "Smart Pill" to increase people's intelligence. "I would buy those pills," Ian said.
My sister Liz said, "There's no way I would take a pill to make me smarter."
"Why not?" Ian asked.
"Are you kidding," she said. "Haven't you noticed how happy dumb people are? I wish I could take a 'Stupid Pill', maybe I'd be happier."
We all laughed, it was the last thing I thought she would say. She has a high IQ; both my sisters do. I don't know what happened to me, but trust me, I am not as smart as they are.
I don't know if Liz was right about stupid people being happier. I just wouldn't take any pill that messed with my mind. After 60 years, I finally have all my marbles in a row up there; I'm not taking any chances.
